Every COST Action’s priority is to enhance research collaboration where ideas and people can grow without borders. The Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITC) Conference Grants are aimed to encourage researchers from Inclusiveness Target Countries, which face the greatest obstacles to research and innovation because of unequal access to knowledge infrastructures, funding, and resources.

These conference grants help PhD students and early-career investigators to attend international science and technology related conferences that are not specifically organised by a COST Action.

You may apply for an ITC Conference Grant if:

  1. you are a PhD student or an Early Career Investigator (i.e. up to 8 years from the date you obtained your PhD/doctorate).
  2. your primary affiliation is with an institution located in an ITC (Inclusiveness Target Country). The ITCs are: Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Croatia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Republic of North Macedonia, Republic of Serbia and Turkey.
  3. you have been accepted to present a paper/poster/panel on a topic related to EUGAIN and are listed in the official event/conference program. You must acknowledge COST in your contribution (see COST Vademecum Section 11, page 40).

To apply for a conference grant, please contact by e-mail the ITC Conference Grant Coordinator and Contact with information about the conference you wish to attend, and proof of the 3 eligibility criteria listed above.
